TORTI ENDS GT4 SEASON WITH SANDOWN CLASS VICTORY

BF Racing driverAndrew Torti brought his 2026 Monochrome GT4 Australia campaign to a strong conclusion at Sandown Raceway over the weekend, claiming a Silver-Am class victory and coming agonisingly close to securing the championship.

Sharing the #88 CAMM Quarries & Concrete Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 with Lachlan Evennett, Torti delivered an impressive performance across the weekend, highlighted by Saturday's Race 1 victory.

After Evennett made an excellent opening stint, taking control of the Silver-Am lead, Torti took over for the second half of the race and delivered a commanding drive, defending their class lead all the way to the chequered flag to secure a superb Silver-Am victory.

Sunday's race was the final opportunity of the 2026 season for Andrew Torti to secure the Silver-Am championship, with the title fight going down to the wire. After Saturday's impressive class victory, Torti and Evennett returned to the track determined to finish the season strongly and make one final push for the title.

The race unfolded in sunny conditions, following a weekend heavily affected by rain. An early Safety Car interruption was followed by an incident involving several cars further down the field, adding another layer of unpredictability to the final contest.

The #88 Toyota GR Supra completed the 42-lap contest in 11th position outright and fifth in Silver-Am.

Despite missing out on another podium, Torti recorded a fastest lap of 1:14.2626, demonstrating the pace was still there right through the final race.

The result brought Torti's championship challenge to a close, with the title narrowly escaping him by just two points. Nevertheless, a race victory on Saturday and a strong finish to the season provided plenty of positives to take away from the Sandown weekend.

While the championship barely slipped away, a class victory at the season finale was a fitting reward for Torti's efforts throughout the year.

With multiple class victories and another competitive season behind him, Andrew finished the 2026 campaign on a high, demonstrating the speed, consistency and determination that have made him a regular top performer in GT4 Australia.
